This classic Cris Craft runabout has been in our customer’s family since his father purchased it new in 1957.

A gorgeous 1957 Chris Craft came in for new upholstery. Our goal was to recreate the original look but with design improvements.

When it was time to upgrade and repair the boat’s interior, they came to Black Dog Design, Inc. with the requirement that the new upholstery look like it did when the boat was new.

The result is outstanding. This classic looks like new!

This tonneau cover snaps onto the windshield and around the perimeter of the boat.

New Covers and a New Bimini For This Cruiser

This boat got a fabric rehab. The bimini and windshield were covered in a tired grey and was showing its age. And, there were no covers at all for the cockpit or the spotlight.

Black Dog Design created all new covers and a new bimini in a black Sunbrella fabric.

A Protective Full Coverage Boat Cover

Here is an example of a full coverage boat cover. The cover cinches under the bottom of the boat and protects the sides from the elements.

A cover like this truly keeps a boat in new condition. And, this cover is basically as easy to use as a regular cover, only it has more fabric involved.

Adding a Drop Skirt to an Existing Boat Cover

Here is a project where the customer was happy with his existing cover and didn’t require that a new one be made.  However, he wanted to add a drop skirt in order to protect the side of the boat from the sun.

Full Covers On Party Barge Covers

This is a new concept in party barge covers. The cover actually ratchets under the bottom rail of the boat and covers the entire body as well as the motor.

This particular customer asked for an extra zip-on section in the back to protect the pontoon area as well.

A Camper Enclosure for a Party Barge

This is an interesting concept.  Convert a party barge into a camper!

The camper enclosure features large, screened windows that can be shut to keep out the rain or keep in the warmth if necessary.

This customer just wanted something he could put up to sleep on out on the lake. No clear windows. Just screen and privacy.

The result is a nice, large camper that can be stowed for fun during the day.

These covers transform the barge into a nice on-the-lake camper. The covers are easy to put up for sleeping and privacy at night, and are equally easy to take down and stow to play during the day.

There is also a cover for the motor to protect it when the boat is not in use.

Vinyl Coated Polyester Cage for Magic Springs’ Basketball Game

This project is hard to categorize and is outside our normal custom work.

Black Dog Designs, Inc., was contacted by Magic Springs Water and Theme Park in Hot Springs, AR, to rework the enclosure for their basketball carnival game.  The project called not only for a durable material that could be stretched tight and would hold up well to the “abuse” of basketballs and the bright Arkansas sun, but also for something “eye catching” in color.

For the project, we used a vinyl coated polyester tarp material, similar to that used to cover cargo on 18-wheelers and such.  Strong seams holding metal eyelets  were built into the fabric panels stretched between the frame members of the basketball “cage”.

The following pictures show the outcome, which we believe very well met the customer’s requirements.
