Meet Sophie the beautiful seventh generation black Labrador Retriever here at Black Dog Design!

Black Dog Design, Inc. opened in 1999 as a producer of fabric bags, totes and throws. Since then, owners Mike and Jan Copeland moved into a 2,000 square foot facility and expanded their line to include custom fabric work for boats and interiors. Mike’s background as a machinist and Jan’s experience in the realm of fabric have enabled them to offer an unparalleled level of expertise in custom fabric work.

After almost 30 years at the helm of Black Dog Design, Mike and Jan are handing the torch to all of their long time employees. Charles and Terrie Yandell  have taken over the business, along with Pam Christenberry, Gary Southern, Clint Yandell and Sarah Husser.  The folks that will be doing your business now are the same. Thank you for wishing them well on their new journey.

Black Dog Design’s custom work includes everything from simple repairs to complicated boat covers and boat trailer covers, furniture re-upholstery, deck covers, snap-in carpet replacement, and even custom covers for unique items like retired military equipment.

Please note that, since Black Dog Design is a custom shop, we generally need access to your boat, trailer, home, etc. in order to design the solution to your needs. We are willing to travel as necessary, but we try to limit our travels to about a 100 mile radius from our store.  Please contact us to discuss your project.
